They had one hell of a process set up where they had the components assembled in different parts of the shipyard then at the end they would assemble the parts together like building blocks.</p>

<p>First a bit of history about the Robert E Peary, She was one of the fastest Liberty ship&#8217;s built, from laying the keel to launch was only FOUR day&#8217;s, she was named after the  American explorer Robert E Peary, she first served in the Pacific then later served on the Atlantic runs, she was also off Omaha beach on &#8220;D&#8221; Day</p>

<p>SWMBO asked me to go into the loft today (07/02/22) as I was looking around for what she was after, I found this long brown box, when I opened it I found that it was the Liberty ship that had been left to me in a mates will, now this must have been about 8/9 years ago.</p>
